Function & responsibilities
Ledger management
- Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and balance sheet accounts
- Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts regularly
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Post provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses, and contract-related transactions
- Review automated postings from departments like HR, logistics, and purchasing
- Act as contact person for auditors, tax office, and statistical office
Tax & compliance
- Prepare VAT advance returns, declarations, and reconciliations
- Ensure inventory valuation complies with local legislation
- Manage yearly financial and tax audits
Fixed assets
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- Follow up investments and capitalization
Financial reporting
- Create monthly and annual financial statements
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and provide insights to management
- Ensure congruence and accuracy of ERP system data
Process optimization
- Analyze accounting workflows and suggest improvements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Integration management
- Provide insights into setting up new accounting process and systems
- Support questions arising from consolidation within the group
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, tax, finance or equal through experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger or financial accounting
- Extensive knowledge of Belgian GAAP
- Ability to work autonomous and accurate
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- French; English/Dutch is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
